Hav-A-Hart Pet Rescue, Inc. is dedicated to saving dogs, cats, puppies and kittens from high-kill, gassing shelters in the central North Carolina area and educating the public on how to stop the killing. Our goal is to provide medical care, vaccinations and quarantine for the animals so they may be transported to various rescues for adoption.

Spay/Neuter may be provided by the receiving rescue. Pets adopted directly from Hav-A-Hart Pet Rescue, Inc. foster homes will be spayed or neutered prior to adoption unless they have not reached the required age for surgery.

We DO NOT accept owner surrendered pets. Please make every attempt to find a warm, loving home to the animal that has served you so loyally. Please do not take your pet to a gassing shelter. If your pet is elderly and has failing health, do the decent thing and take him/her to a vet to be humanely euthanized. Do not list your beloved pet in the paper as FREE TO GOOD HOME. Sad to say, but there are many bad people out there who will take your family pet, and use it as bait for pit bull fighting or worse. Please make sure you know who is taking your pet. Ask for a vet reference and make the call. Do a home visit. If they won't tell you where they live, or won't give you a reference,don't give them your pet.

Hav-A-Hart Pet Rescue does not receive any municipal, city, state or federal funding. All the money to support the animals we help comes from individual donations like yours.

Hav-A-Hart Pet Rescue is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. All donations are tax-deductible. Monetary donations may be made through Paypal using your credit card. You do not need a Paypal account to make a donation. Click on the Donate button below to make a donation.
